Commencez la danse

So I decided to give the whole blog thing a whirl. Part of me is wanting to say I don’t know why I’m doing this, but in fact I do know why. I’ve been thinking about it for a while, especially since reading John Cohn’s blog on MySpace. He lost his son about six months ago in a car accident, and he has been writing his blog ever since as part of the healing process (at least I’m assuming that’s why he’s writing). He talks about his son some, but mostly just kind of goes through the events of the day. I figured I could probably do the same thing, but didn’t know what purpose it would serve. Then I took my kids to a hot air balloon launch and realized that the pictures didn’t quite capture the moment, and I really wanted to hold on to it. So that ended me up here. I basically want to chronicle what’s going on and all the little bits that will otherwise be lost to time as we move forward. Don’t know how often I’ll get around to this, but hopefully it will be pretty regular.

So. I guess that’s enough of an intro. I don’t know who will end up reading this or how much I will publicize it, but welcome here. I can’t imagine my journey will be all that interesting to very many people, but maybe someone out there will be affected the same way I have been through reading John’s blog.
